Community Q&A
Can I take money off of a Starbucks card and put it on my debit card?
Community Answer
No, any money that is on a Starbucks card (whether it is a gift card or a personal account) is now only able to be used in transactions at a Starbucks coffee house. Even refunds given at any Starbucks may only be given back in cash rather than back onto the credit or debit card.

If I upload a gift card to the app, is the actual physical gift card now empty?
Community Answer
Yes. You may transfer any gift card onto any app or personal starbucks account in order to combine the money, just like you would load any money (cash or card) onto the app or personal Starbucks account card.

If the barcode isn't scanning properly, try turning up your phone display's brightness.

Some stores may not be able to process payments from within the app. As such, you shouldn't rely on the Starbucks app as your only method of payment.
